ACORN 15th February 2019

THE ACORN - 11

Week ending 15th February 2019

Today is the last day of Term 3. We wish you a very happy and safe holiday.

Term 4 starts on Monday 25th February and ALL children should be in school on this day.

Parking issues

Sadly, we need to raise this issue again – we seem to have to be doing this in every edition of The Acorn. Again, our apologies to those law-abiding parents who follow the rules of the roads, but unfortunately there are still those amongst you who do not. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT block the driveways of our neighbours – how would you feel if you were unable to leave your home in the morning because someone had parked across your driveway!!!! We want to maintain good relationships with our neighbours but they are, understandably, becoming very cross and frustrated. Please be considerate.

After School Clubs

There are a few spaces available in the following clubs :-

Monday KS2 Tri-golf

Tuesday Y3&4 Choir

Wednesday KS2 Netball

If your child is interested, please call into the school office for a registration form.

PLEASE NOTE that after school clubs will not take place on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th March due to Parents Evenings.

Tests

Year 2 SATs (puzzle books) will take place during the week 7th - 10th May 2019

Year 6 SATs will take place during the week 13th – 17th May 2019.

Year 1 Phonics checks will begin on 10th June 2019

ALL children must be in school for these important tests. Please do not make any routine medical appointments during this time.

Parents/Carers Meetings

Please return your request for an appointment slip to your child’s teacher as soon as possible. The later you leave it, the less likely you are to get an appointment at the time you request.

Book Fair

Our Book Fair will take place on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th March at the same time as Parents/Carers Meetings. The Book Fair will be available in the hall during the whole of these two evenings so please take a look and choose books either side of your appointment with your child’s teacher. As space in the hall will be very limited, please DO NOT come at any other time – especially when the bell first goes at 3.15pm.

On Friday 8th March, the Book Fair will be available in the hall from 3.15pm. If you missed the chance to buy a book during Parents Evenings, please come along and take a look.

Each child will be given a World Book Day voucher on Monday 25th February. Please look out for this coming home with your child. Details of how this can be spent are noted on the voucher. You are able to use this voucher at our Book Fair.
