ACORN 5th April 2019

THE ACORN - 14

Week ending 5th April 2019

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF TERM 4. WE WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY EASTER HOLIDAY.

TERM 5 STARTS ON TUESDAY 23RD APRIL 2019 AND ALL CHILDREN SHOULD BE IN SCHOOL ON THIS DAY.

Staffing update

You will be aware that Mrs Thompson (Year 1 Kingfisher class teacher), and Miss Thompson (Reception class Teaching Assistant) will be leaving us at Easter.  We will be sad to see them both go after many years of working in our school.  We thank them both for their hard work and wish them all the very best in their new jobs.

Class Photographs

Please make sure you return your photograph order to the school office by Thursday 25th April at the latest.  Thank you.

PTA Smarties Challenge

If you returned the consent form for your child to take part in the PTA Smarties challenge, please enjoy the Smarties and then fill your empty tube with coins. Please write your name, class and colour in the space with your house team and return the filled tube to school. All of the money raised goes towards providing much needed items for the school which are paid for by the PTA so ALL children at Spalding Primary School will benefit from this. Thank you.

 Year 6 Leavers Hoodies/Zoodies

Don’t forget to return your order for a hoodie or zoodie to the school office by Friday 26th April.

Polling Day

On Thursday 2nd May two of our Year 5 classrooms will be used as a Polling Station.  SCHOOL WILL BE OPEN on this day – it will be a normal school day. Children in Year 5 will be going on a trip.  Members of the public will be coming into the school via the car park to vote.  They will not have access to any other part of the school so there is no need for you to be concerned about the safety of the children.  At all times, the playground gates will be locked so the public cannot enter the playgrounds.  The only gate which will be unlocked to permit access will be the green gates at the bottom of the car park.  However, there will be a barrier erected just beyond the gates so children cannot get out and the public cannot get into school.  As we expect there to be more traffic on this day, please consider walking to school if you are able.  Thank you.
