ACORN 8th March 2019

THE ACORN - 12

Week ending 8th March 2019

Internet Safety

You will be aware of the various emails we have been sending you just lately concerning internet safety.  Can we please ask that you carefully monitor the things your child is accessing on-line.  When your children use the internet to search for images for projects or anything related to school work, please encourage them to use ‘Kiddle’ instead of Google.  Kiddle is a child-specific search engine supported by Google, which prevents the appearance of things that are not suitable for them.  ‘www.kiddle.co’   we would ask that you share this information with as many people as possible in an attempt to keep our children safe.

Current year 6 children

If you think your child is eligible for school transport for travelling to secondary school, please apply for this as soon as you have your offer of a school place.  Applications can be made online at the website below or a paper application form can be requested from Customer Services Centre on 01522 782020.

For more information about the home to school transport policy and online applications please go to www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/schooltransport

Queries can be emailed to: schooltransportapplications@lincolnshire.gov.uk

Smile please!!

Our photographers will be in school on Wednesday 20th March when they will be taking whole class photographs.  Please make sure your child is dressed in correct uniform (including a jumper/cardigan) and that all hair decorations are in school colours.  Please also note that hair decorations should be small.  If your child comes to school wearing a big hair decoration, they will be asked to remove it as this will draw attention away from the children’s faces.

If, for any reason, you do not wish your child to be in the class photograph, please inform the class teacher by Monday 18th March.

There will be an opportunity for you to purchase the photograph, but as always, there is no obligation for you to do so.

The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

Many thanks to all who supported this appeal back in November.  We have been informed by the Royal British Legion that our school raised an amazing amount of £229.55.  Thank you.

Tests

Year 2 SATs (puzzle books) will take place during the week 7th - 10th May 2019
