Capt. Paul Whiteley (Partnership Governor & Chair of Governors) - I have served as a school Governor at a variety of Schools for the past 18 years, 4 of which have been here at Spalding Primary School. As the Associate Minister of St John's Church Spalding, I am not only involved with the School as a Governor but come into the school to lead assemblies.
Mrs. Joy Hancock (Community Governor & Vice Chair of Governors) - I am a community governor at Spalding Primary School. At present vice chairman, a position held for the last four years. I have been involved in education in the Spalding area for the last 25 years and a governor at SPS for more than 10. My working career was with H.M. Revenue & Customs until retirement 4 years ago. I live locally, have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.
Mr. Kevin Mothers (Partnership Governor) - I am married with two children who are now in their twenties. Both were educated at Spalding Primary School. I have been a governor at the school since 1993. The need to give something back to education was the reason for me initially volunteering as a parent governor. This was borne from having an excellent education at both Pinchbeck East Primary and Gleed Boys Secondary. I have been on many visits with classes from the school to venues including Kingswood Residential.
Mr. Colin McCallum (Support Staff Governor) - I am currently employed at the School Site Manager and have been in this position for 8 years. I also have 11 years Site Manager experience at the William Stukeley School in Holbeach. I feel that in my role as a Staff Governor I am an asset to the Board of Governors due to my knowledge of working within a school environment for a number of years. I enjoy not just working here but also getting involved in school activities.I am married to Jayne and live in the local school community. I also served in the military for 30 years.
Mrs Caroline Glass (Parent Governor) - I have joined Spalding Primary Governors as a Parent Governor. I am married with 1 child attending our school currently in year 1. I am a full time mother who previously worked full time for over 10 years in the Retail Industry. I applied to be a Parent Governor to support the education of all our children and to better my understanding of how Governors and School staff work together to provide this. I especially enjoy my family and my home. I am an enthusiastic decorator, cook and gardener, but I have missed working as part of a team.
When I attended my first parents evening at Spalding primary school I was so impressed by all of the fantastic work that goes into improving and enriching the curriculum for our children’s benefit. It was at this point that I thought I simply must give something back. I became a parent governor and then joined the standards committee soon after.
