Individual and sibling photographs take place on Tuesday 15th October 2019. Please make sure your child is correctly dressed in their full uniform (including a jumper/cardigan) and that any hair ornaments are in school colours. There are still a few spaces available for the evening portrait session between 4.00pm-4.30pm, 4.30pm-5.00pm and 5.00pm-5.30pm. If you would like to book a space during these times, please see Mrs Mountain in the office. If you have a session booked, please make sure you arrive at the beginning of your half hour slot.
Christmas Card Fundraiser
It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas - and here at Spalding Primary School we are already doing so!! Our PTA are again giving you the opportunity to purchase goods designed by your child through ‘Class Fundraising’. This week, the children have been busy designing their Christmas pictures. These will then be sent off to Class Fundraising and in a few weeks time you will receive a sample of your child’s design, together with an order form. Items available to purchase are Christmas cards, gift tags, tea towels, mugs and a bag for life. There is absolutely no obligation to purchase any items at all if you do not wish to. All money raised by our PTA helps support all children within school. Look out for your sample and order form following the October holiday.
After School Clubs
Just a reminder that after school clubs WILL NOT TAKE PLACE on Tuesday 15th, Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th October due to the photograph evening on Tuesday and Parents evenings on Wednesday and Thursday. Also a reminder that the girls football team practice will start on Thursday 7th November.
Can we please remind parents/carers that you should NOT park in the car park when dropping off your child for a morning club or collecting your child from after school clubs. These are extremely busy times of the day with school staff attempting to arrive for work or leave for the day. This is for the safety of yourself and your children. Thank you.
Snacks at morning break time
We are finding that many children are complaining that they are very hungry before lunch time arrives. This is not such a problem in KS1 as children are provided with a snack during morning break time through a government funded scheme, but once children move into KS2 (Years 3 upwards) this is not available to them. So your child can keep up their concentration levels during the morning, you may wish to provide your KS2 child with a healthy snack for morning break time, such as a piece of fruit, some vegetables, or a cereal bar. Please remember that nuts or products containing nuts are not allowed within school. Please make sure your child has eaten a good healthy breakfast before coming into school in the mornings.
Thank you to those of you who made a donation to the Agape Foodbank. These have now been passed to the Foodbank who were very grateful.
If you have not already registered your child for the flu vaccination, please do this as soon as possible. If you need a further copy of the letter, please call into the school office. The vaccinations will take place within school on 8th November.
